Upcoming Webinar on the Mental Health Needs of Young Adults Experiencing Homelessness
Date/Time: Tuesday, September 19, 2017, 10am – 11am PT / 1pm – 2pm ET
This webinar will examine how young adults manage their mental health needs while homeless and outline the implications for programs providing mental health services for transition age youth. Featuring data from the Homeless Youth Risk and Resilience Survey, a new study of homeless young adults (age 18-26) gathered through drop-in centers and shelters in seven cities across the country, the webinar will also include the voices of youth who participated. Presenters will outline potential solutions to increase connection and supports for these young people through early identification and intersystem communication.

Peer-reviewed articles by Pathways authors are now available on the Pathways website, organized by publication date. This group of thirty articles published from 2010 to 2017 includes the work of current and previous Pathways researchers and their partners. When possible, a link to the full text of the authors' manuscript is included along with the article citation; otherwise a link to the article’s abstract is provided.
These and other Pathways publications are also available through the Pathways Publications search, which allows users to search by author, keyword or title.

Pathways Career Visions Study Featured in "Research in Focus"
Career Visions, a former Pathways RTC research project, is detailed in the July 23 Research in Focus from NARIC (National Rehabilitation Information Center). The article describes the Career Visions program and the results of a study that measured the effectiveness of the program in helping young adults with mental health challenges develop and implement career plans.

Healthy Transition Initiative Issue Brief 4 – Improving Life Trajectories for Young Adults
This issue brief, published by the National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health in partnership with Youth MOVE National and SAMHSA, discusses how two states and one county were able to sustain services and supports for young adults of transition age beyond federal grant dollars and expands upon effective strategies for establishing effective approaches for this population.

SAMHSA Seeking Input on Draft Core Competencies for Peers Working in Criminal Justice
SAMHSA's GAINS Center for Behavioral Health and Justice Transformation is seeking input from the public on a draft set of core competencies for those working in peer support in criminal justice settings. Comments will be accepted until August 25, 2017.

31st Annual Research and Policy Conference on Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Behavioral Health

The call for proposals is now open for next year's "Tampa Conference," which will include the 2018 Youth and Young Adult Mental Health State-of-the-Science Conference, jointly sponsored by Transitions RTC and Pathways RTC.
