On March 22 Pathways hosted "Multisystemic Therapy for Emerging Adults (MST-EA): Treating Young Adults Who Have Justice Involvement and Behavioral Health Conditions," with Ashli Sheidow and Maryann Davis. The latest version of the Program Directory of Early Psychosis Intervention Programs from the EASA (Early Assessment & Support Alliance) Center for Excellence is a database and directory of early intervention programs for psychosis within the U.S. This resource is maintained in partnership with The National Technical Assistance Network For Children's Behavioral Health.

Core Provider Training: Family Acceptance Project

Date/Location: April 25 – 26, 2017, Detroit, MI

Dr. Caitlin Ryan, along with the Family Run Executive Director Leadership Association (FREDLA), will lead this training. It focuses on a family-based approach to wellness, prevention and care for LGBTQ children, youth, and young adults, based on the Family Acceptance Project's family intervention and support model.

NAMI Webinar: Understanding Depression in Teenagers

Date/Time: Thursday, April 27, 2017, 10am – 11am PT / 1pm – 2pm ET

In this webinar, Dr. Argyris Stringaris, Chief of the Mood Brain and Development Unit at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD, will discuss the prevalence and impact of depression for young people and review the current treatment options including a new strategy using the brain's reward processing as a potential treatment option.

An Update on Suicidal Behavior in Youth: Causes, Treatment and Prevention

Date/Location: May 3 – 4, 2017, Pittsburgh, PA

This research symposium will provide attendees information on current biological and psychological mechanisms likely to contribute to suicide risk; novel approaches to the assessment of suicidal risk; and advances in treatment and prevention. Registration deadline is Friday, April 21, 2017.

Pathways RTC researchers and Youth M.O.V.E. National have developed a new tool for agencies to assess whether their policies and procedures support the meaningful participation of young people in decision-making. If you work for or with an agency that wants to include youth and young adults in agency decision-making, please help test this tool by completing an online survey by April 15th. Survey participants can enter a raffle for a 1-in-50 chance of winning a $100 Amazon gift card!
